The 3 Mighty Forces of Power http://howtocreateyourfuture.com/the-3-mighty-forces-of-power/ Thu, 21 Mar 2013 17:55:06 +0000 http://howtocreateyourfuture.com/?p=1792 Continue reading ]]>

By Burt Goldman, The American Monk

Events can be manipulated to solve problems you are faced with. You can change things you’re not satisfied with.

While there’s no disputing the fact that you can’t always get what you want, it’s also true that you can exercise your innate power over the events of your life and make things go your way much more frequently.

To do so, you must understand and use the three mighty forces of power – desire, belief, and expectation. Before anything you want to happen can occur, you must desire that it happen. You must believe that it can happen. And you must expect it to happen. Let’s look at each of these three forces and then see how you can put them to work for you.

The First Power Force – Desire

Every manifestation of will is preceded by the desire to act. You must desire something before will can take action. In order to desire something, you must believe that you will gain a measure of satisfaction from it.

Anything you do, from the moment you wake up in the morning until the time you close your eyes to sleep in the evening, is precipitated by desire. Nothing is done that does not have a degree or more of desire behind it. To desire something is to feel there will be a measure of satisfaction after the getting of the thing. You cannot desire a thing unless you feel there will be some satisfaction in the attainment of that desire.

Avoidance of Pain Keeps Many People Stuck

Many people are stuck in a particular position in life simply because they feel that making a change would cause some measure of discomfort. To avoid the discomfort they linger in the existing state of affairs even though that causes discomfort as well. The sayings “Better the devil I know than the devil I don’t.” and “Don’t jump from the frying pan into the fire.” Express this sentiment.

Note the system of expectation at work here. When discomfort or pain is expected, the force works to keep you from making any change, even when the pain is imagined and may never take place.

Like all things, desire has degrees of strength. Consider the story of the disciple who went to his guru one day and asked, “Master, how do I achieve enlightenment?” The wise old guru directed the disciple to the bank of the Ganges River and had him kneel with his head over the water. Then the guru put his hand on the young man’s neck and pushed his head below the surface of the water. After a minute and a half the young disciple was frantic. He pulled and heaved and flailed his arms, but the grip was like iron. He could not get his head back out of the water. After two minutes, when it seemed as though his lungs would burst, the grip was released.

The young man’s head jerked out of the water and he took great gulps of air into his tortured lungs. The guru smiled. “Tell me,” he gently asked, ” what was your greatest desire just then?” “To breathe,” the young disciple stated emphatically. “Ah,” the guru said. “When you desire enlightenment to that degree, it shall be yours.”

To have a better understanding of desire, see it on an ascending scale, like a giant thermometer. At the bottom of the scale is zero, and at the top, one hundred.

When your desire is weak, near the bottom of the scale, it is unlikely that anything will motivate you to activate your will and accomplish the object of that desire. When your desire is near the top of the scale nothing can keep you from success in attaining that desire. To enhance desire, go to level and visualize the positive end result of what you desire to happen.

The Second Power Force – Belief

Belief is mental acceptance of some idea as being true. You accept ideas from others because they are authority figures. This setting of a belief in your mind (usually at a young and trusting age) comes about because you have absolute trust in the authority (generally the parent, sometimes the religious or educational institution, sometimes another trusted outside agency such as a relative, peer, or the media).

This acceptance can come about even when there are facts that contradict it. Reinforcement of beliefs strengthens until, faulty or true, they become a fundamental part of your thought processes. To entrench matters more, now beliefs are tested through the structure of the faulty belief, thereby compounding the problem. What this means is that you only accept information that reinforces the belief. Information that contradicts the belief is rejected.

The Third Force of Power – Expectation

Expectation is a mighty power indeed — so much so that a doctor can take an inert pill and tell a patient that it is a powerful drug, and the patient will react as though the actual drug had been taken. This well-documented phenomenon is called the placebo effect. It might also be called the “expectation effect.”

Of course, the placebo effect does not work all of the time. If it did, no one would bother with drugs at all. They would simply use placebos. It does, however, work with a significant and measurable percentage of success.

Expectation can be a powerful force in one’s life. How can you use expectation as a force in your life? Can you simply expect good things to happen and they will happen?

When you are told something by an authority figure you respect – say, a doctor, a teacher, a parent, or your boss – those words have an effect on all three levels, the physical, the mental, and the spiritual. When you believe this authority figure without hesitation or reservation, then that person’s expectation of you is more likely to come to be. With respect to your own expectation of yourself, however, you might well tell yourself, “I’m going to expect this to happen” only to hear a small voice responding, “Who are you kidding?”

The trick is to make yourself the respected authority figure. Expectation is enhanced with our techniques that entail going to one’s Alpha level and creating the visual imagery of the desired event already having taken place. This technique has a dual effect: it puts you in the position of acting as your own authority, and it reinforces your experience of yourself that way.

The more successful you become, the more you believe in yourself and the better you become at triggering the anticipated positive result of whatever event you are trying to bring about. As you grow into a better person better begets better and you do indeed grow better and better.

To build expectation, go to level and visualize the event as already having happened. When you come out of the alpha level, think about the event happening by a predetermined date. You will find more and more expected events coming to pass.

To help you change your expectation, recall the principle of correspondence – as above, so below; as below, so above. As it is with the seed, so it is with the tree. Start with the small if you want to affect the large. If you wish to bring about a change in a friend, in a parent, child, or spouse, change your own expectation. Begin to expect that which you desire to happen and you will note changes occurring.

Expect things on a smaller scale at first, as the smaller things come into being you begin to expect the major things to happen as well. Expectation is a force that can and should be discussed with others.

AmericanMonk
Expectation works with all people, and on all levels-on the family level, on the town, city, and country level, on the national, international, and universal level. The law is the law; what works with the small works with the mighty. What works with the molecule works with the universe.

Change your expectation and see your reality, your world, change to the degree that you wish it to change. And eventually you will arrive at the place you wish to be.

By Enoch Tan / Creator of Secrets of Mind and Reality

Your wealth is not a measure of how much you have, but how much you are capable of generating in every moment. If you had won a million dollars in the lottery but are capable of generating zero dollars, you wealth is virtually zero.

Wealth is what you have left when all your money has been taken from you. That is why people who are truly wealthy never become poor even after they have lost all their money. They are able to create money on demand. The secret of wealth is creation and not possession.

A poor person who is incapable of generating income, but happens to win a million dollars, is still a poor person with a million dollars. A rich person who is capable of generating lots of money, but happens to lose all his money, is still a rich person with no money.

Money does not make you rich. It is the power to obtain wealth that makes you rich. A million dollars in the hands of someone without power to create wealth, will soon become nothing. In the hands of someone with power, it never runs out.

Money Is An Illusion

Money is an illusion because it is not a thing in itself. Money is a representation of something else. It is an external symbol that manifest from the inner world of creativity and intention. The manifestation is complete with some form of action involved. It is only an illusion when there is a lot of money or there is no money. A person capable of generating zero dollars may possess the illusion of a million dollars, while a person capable of generating a million dollars may possess the illusion of money being run out.

When you are capable of creating money, the supply is inexhaustible. Whatever wealth that is manifested is temporary and will soon shrink with inflation until it is next to nothing. It is only the act of re-creation that sustains the presence of a particular thing in the visible world.

Whatever you hold in your hand is subjected to death and decay. Old things become obsolete and it is only through constant renewal that enables anything to live on continually. Whatever stops creating, ceases to live.

It is a lunacy of people of the world to make lots of money to last them the rest of their lives, so that they can retire and never have to work to make any more money. Why retire when you should enjoy making money or enjoy doing fulfilling work that makes you money?

Doing something in order to stop doing it implies that the very thing you are doing is not enjoyable. Isn’t it such a meaningless way to live life? The reason why this is so, is because many people do not even know how to live their lives correctly.

Retirement Is A Joke

The idea of retirement is a joke. The moment you retire, you stop contributing and generating. It doesn’t matter how rich you seem to be by the amount of money you have. When you stop contributing and generating, you are virtually a bankrupt. You may have a lot of money in the bank to live on for the remainder of your probable lifespan, but if the money disappeared overnight, you are financially dead. If you somehow managed to get eternal life on earth, the very concept of retirement will disappear completely.

Life is always in motion and that which is flowing shall live. Money has to flow in and out of your life in order to sustain your life. You cannot live without spending and you cannot spend without earning. Cash flow is the core diagnosis of any financial system. Whenever your income exceeds your expenses, you are growing steadily richer every day. Whenever your expenses exceed your income, you are growing steadily poorer every day. Therefore the money wise will always keep the inflow going steady.

We either progress or regress, we never stand still. You are either growing or dying. The moment you retire, you are as good as dead. The purpose of life is to create. When a person retires, they stop creating and stop living. That is why people who retire tend to pass away in a very short span of time. They lose the purpose of remaining here on earth and therefore their subconscious mind soon brings their physical life to an end. It’s insanity that people work only to retire and then to die without having lived.

It is also an illusion that people have in mind about creating wealth to retire and have the freedom to do what they enjoy. The idea of retirement and freedom should start from day one. You should start doing something you would do if you were already retired. That is what life is for. If you do something that you truly enjoy and most desire to do, you will never work a single day of your life and you will never retire because you are already as good as retired. You are completely free when you realize this truth.

Since wealth is only a reflection of the value that you generate in this world, you never want to stop generating it. That is why there are very wealthy people who continue to do the work they do although they have more than enough money to retire and live on for many lifetimes over. They enjoy doing what they do because it is not work, but it is their life. They seek to generate value for the world for as long as they live. They are truly expressing their inner wealth as infinite and inexhaustible in their outer world.

Strive to be a person of value and generation rather than a person of riches and success. If you are generating more value in this world than you are consuming, you are already rich and a success. Every value that you consume should be for the purpose of further increasing the value you can generate.

This is how you multiply the current value of the world instead of degenerating it. As long as you are alive, your purpose is to generate. That is how you make the most out of your life. You constantly generate wealth.

Enoch Tan aims to help people achieve greater awareness in living and experiencing life, to evolve human consciousness to higher levels and to revolutionize the way we understand the mind and reality, because that is what governs every area of life and destiny. When you learn Secrets of Mind and Reality which is the science behind all Self Help, you’ll become a Law of Attraction and Manifestation Master.

Laughter Meditation: How to Feel Great Every Day http://howtocreateyourfuture.com/laughter-meditation-how-to-feel-great-every-day/ Mon, 24 Sep 2012 16:10:50 +0000 http://howtocreateyourfuture.com/?p=1549 Continue reading ]]>

By Kent SayreAuthor of Unstoppable Confidence

In this article, I’m going to reveal to you how to feel great every day for the rest of your life.

That might sound too good to be true so stick with me here. By the end of this article, you’ll completely understand and be able to feel great every single day from today onward…guaranteed.

Here’s what you must understand – We, as humans…in all of our sophistication…are really simple beings in one sense.

Here is the big idea – for everything we do, we do it to seek pleasure and avoid pain. Go ahead…I dare you…try in vain to find a counterexample. You won’t find one.

Everything you do, you do it to get more pleasure and/or lessen pain. This seems obvious enough, doesn’t it?

When have you felt the absolute best feelings in your life? I’m willing to bet dollars to donuts that you felt pretty sensational after you found yourself laughing hard…either at a funny movie…a friend’s joke…or while listening to a comedian. Maybe somebody played a practical joke on someone in the office and you laughed yourself to tears.

Have you ever laughed so hard that you were left rolling on the floor with uncontrollable laughter? I’m not talking about the kind of laughter where you chuckle or give a phony laugh at your boss telling you a lame joke. I’m talking about downright, pee-your-pants laughter where you’re doubled-over and your stomach hurts from laughing so hard. The kind of laughter where someone says something funny and you blow milk through your nose kind of laughter.

This is essential for you to understand in order for you to feel great every day for the rest of your life.

Ok, so you felt pretty great after laughing pretty hard, didn’t you? Very good, I can see you nodding your head now as you sit at the computer reading this article. Thank you.

Every day, people plunk down money to feel good. In a moment…I’m going to give you a surefire way to do this…plus my method is FREE. People buy a ticket to a comedy movie to go laugh and feel good. People purchase a ticket to a comedy club to laugh and feel good. People trade jokes in the office to laugh and feel good.

Are you seeing a pattern here yet? When people laugh, they feel good and get pleasure. Most people need some sort of external stimulus to tickle their funny bones and make them laugh. Well, I’m here to say that it isn’t so.

You can laugh anytime you want to, for as long as you want to, as hard as you want to, with self-hypnosis. Remember, self-hypnosis is simply the science of controlling your brain. It’s nothing magical or mysterious.

The Art and Practice of Laughter Meditation

The goal here is to allow yourself to laugh as hard as you possibly can for fifteen minutes. You can go for longer periods later on.

1. Be uninterrupted. First, find a place where you will not be disturbed. Take the phone off the hook. Tell the kids you’re “off-duty” for the next fifteen minutes.

2. Physically relax. Now, sit down with your arms and legs uncrossed. Or if you prefer, lie down on your back with your arms and legs lying flat on the bed. Make yourself as comfortable as humanly possible.

3. Give yourself permission to relax. Now close your eyes. Tell yourself internally, “In the next 15 minutes, I’m going to allow myself to remember all the times where I felt outrageous, side-splitting laughter. I’m going to laugh as hard to improve my health and well being. I give myself permission in these next 15 minutes to laugh myself silly so that I feel great for the rest of the day.” (Now mind you, you don’t need to have this word for word. Simply repeat the gist of what I’m saying here.)

4. Mentally Relax. Count backwards slowly from 10 to 1. With each passing number, give yourself suggestions that you’re becoming more relaxed, you’re sinking down deeper into self-hypnosis, and you’re about to feel great. With each passing number, suggest to yourself that you’re doubling your relaxation.

5. Relive Past Hilarious Experiences. As your sitting or lying there relaxed now, float back in time to a place and time where you see yourself laughing hard…even uncontrollably. See that picture clearly. As soon as you find that experience, step into it. Relive it through your own eyes. Hear what you and the other people are saying. Feel the good feelings in your body. And if you feel it, begin to laugh right now.

6. Relive More Past Hilarious Experiences. Continue to relive other past experiences where you laughed yourself silly by reliving them. See what you saw, hear what you heard, and feel what you felt. With each experience, amplify your laughter.

7. Intensify The Laughter. Now if you’re laughing pretty well and would like to ratchet up the intensity so you can laugh harder, you can give yourself what are called in hypnosis “deepening suggestions”. When you have a really good laughter going, you can give yourself the following suggestion, “In a moment, when I open and close my eyes, I’m going to remember some of the funniest jokes that I’ve ever heard and will laugh harder than I ever have.” Then open and close your eyes and let the suggestion kick in. Another suggestion is “When I touch my finger to my forehead, I will double my laughter.” Then ever so slowly…bring your finger toward your forehead…letting the anticipation build up as you’re still laughing. Then when you finger touches your forehead, you’ll burst out into even more intense laughter.

8. Jumpstarting The Laughter (If Necessary). If you have trouble getting started laughing, take heart. Sometimes people condition the laughter out of us. That’s ok. We’ll just recondition you to laugh freely and easily. That’s what we’re doing here. We’re retraining you to laugh and feel good. So here’s how to get started if the above process didn’t work as well for you. Do everything I suggested above except I want you to do it with a fake laugh at first. Hey, I know it is silly. But Bucko, I’m teaching you how to feel great every day for the rest of your life. It’s worth feeling a bit silly for. Anyway, start out with a fake laugh. (Fake) laugh out loud as you recall past experiences that you truly find humorous. Continue to fake laugh. Don’t fake chuckle. Fake laugh. Pretty soon, your brain will convert that fake laughter into real laughter. You might start laughing at the fake laughter or you might remember what it is like to really laugh.

9. Give Yourself Therapeutic Suggestions (Optional). Ok, work yourself into near hysterical laughter with the intensifying suggestions. Now, in the midst of the uproarious laughter, think about something that bothers you or a challenge you’re having in life. And then give yourself this suggestion; “If I can laugh about this, it has NO power over me whatsoever! I’m totally resourceful and will conquer this!” Through this laughter meditation, you’re really in a state of deep self-hypnosis right now and you’re conditioning your mind to link pleasure to solving your problem. But you’re so busy laughing, I swear this will be the most fun you’ll ever have improving yourself!

10. Give Yourself Positive Suggestions When you’re ready to end the laughter session, here’s what to do. Give yourself suggestions that, “Anytime something troubles me, I can have this laughter anytime I want and will laugh inside my heart and mind and it won’t bother me.” Say, “As I come out of this laughter meditation, I will feel absolutely wonderful with no side effects. I will feel fantastic, refreshed, and rejuvenated as if I had just woken up from a restful 2-hour nap.” Don’t get hung up on the exact words I’m giving you. Give yourself the basic message.

11. Come Out Of The Laughter Meditation Count yourself out of self-hypnosis. Tell yourself, “I’m going to count from 1 to 5 and by the time I reach 5 I will be fully aware and awake, feeling sensational. 1….feeling good…2…coming back here now…3…taking a deep breath…4…feeling even better…and 5…eyes open…wide awake…feel great now!” At this point, open your eyes and you’ll be done.

That, my friend, is how to feel great every day for the rest of your life. It looks long and a little drawn out as I describe it yet it’s alarmingly simple for you to do. And once you do it the first time, you’ll be hooked. It’s true. Who wouldn’t want to feel absolutely sensational with no side effects?

What you’re doing is tapping into your natural ability to laugh. The merchants who sell drugs and peddle alcohol should be quaking in their boots right now. The laughter meditation will squash the need for those side-effect-laden products.

Nobody can touch the laughter meditation. Nothing can beat it. It’s the ultimate experience. I know I might be crazy to release the laughter meditation to the general public. I’m putting my reputation on the line here to share this with you.

Some people who won’t think twice about chugging a six-pack of brew to get wasted (and feel “good”) will dismiss the laughter mediation as bizarre. It’s a shame. And it’s their loss. What a funny world we live in.

But I thought to myself, “Screw it.” The laughter meditation is truly too great to not share with you. If you like, I will create a product (an audio CD) that will lead you through this process and have you rolling on the floor with almost uncontrollable laughter and feeling on top of the world. Let me hear from you if you want this or what your results have been with doing your own laughter meditation.

As an aside, did you of the untold health benefits to laughing? Norman Cousins, in his book “Anatomy Of An Illness” explained how he laughed himself back from death’s door (after suffering from a “terminal” illness) just by watching funny movies, laughing hard, and taking vitamin C.

So you’re getting bonus health benefits too doing this laughter meditation.

I’m off to do a laughter meditation.

Excerpt from  How To Program Your Mind For Wealth

In order to live your dreams, you must develop healthy self-confidence. You must believe that you possess the inherent skills necessary to fulfill your desires. You must realize that even if you think that you have never accomplished anything truly worthy, you absolutely have the potential to fulfill your dreams.

Remember that you would not even have a particular desire if your unique personality was not imbued with the latent talents to bring it to fruition. Know that with a willingness to continually learn as a human being, and by keeping your mind focussed on the type of life you desire, you will, inevitably, manifest your dreams. This feeling of assuredness is the basis of true, healthy self-confidence.

Through properly focussing your mind you can develop any of the personality traits you need in order to succeed, including self-confidence. The key is to use your memories constructively rather than negatively.

Most people’s self-confidence is shaken simply because they focus on past experiences that went poorly, and they blame themselves for the negative experiences of their lives. Instead, decide to focus on the events of your past that went well, where you had success, and realize that you have just as much power to succeed as any other person.

Everybody has encountered failure in the past, and you are no different. What is different is your ability to not let past failures stand in your way of a fulfilling future. Simply focus on your positive energy, and decide to use this energy to create positive experiences in your future.

Right now you have decided to learn to expand your consciousness to increase your capacity to attract prosperity. Having this desire for abundant consciousness proves that it is a realistic goal for your personality at this time. It is no accident that you are reading these ideas at this moment. You are willing and open to learn, and the creative energy of the universe is happily teaching you. Accept these lessons with faith that you will absorb this knowledge and effortlessly express it in physical reality.

Feel completely confident that you have the ability to live a prosperous life.

“Banish worry by quietly and confidently affirming the drawing power of divine love as the constantly active magnet that attracts your unfailing supply.” –Charles Fillmore

By Stuart WildeAuthor of Infinite Self

My ol’ teacher said that before you are born you choose your parents and that you have an overview of the circumstances and beliefs that you are to be born into, he even said you have a comprehension of the defects or inabilities of the future body you will inhabit at birth, your DNA karma say.

It is a very original idea because your birth and the mindset you inherit from your parents overwhelmingly dictates the nature and circumstances of your life’s initial journey. It is our first karma to be born into the restriction of a physical body that is sometimes frightened and it moves slowly, and the second karma is the family imprint that is emotionally embossed upon us. Our third karma develops as we grow up and we go out and test our embossed-self up against real life and other embossed, sometimes warped souls, and we learn through action and reaction.

Our forth karma is spiritual for humans know very little about where our consciousness comes from, or the dimensions that exist all around us, and we know little or nothing about God or the after-life, and nothing is ever written about our pre-life, where we were before we were born? Religion attempts to address the subject of God and the after-life but it offers us nothing more than the arrogance of ignorance dressed in a platitude. It is not very accurate…mumbo-jumbo mostly.

These four karmas bind humanity into a collective karma that I call the global-ego. It’s consumerism, violence and titillation, corruption, lies, abuse the status quo and evil. Essentially it is the spiritual bankruptcy of the soul that Deepak Chopra speaks of, a bankruptcy driven by self-interest, greed and of the curse of silent fears.

At the age of eleven, my then rotten karma had placed me, for what would turn out to be seven years, at a moldy Catholic boarding school. I saw the cruelty, violence and homosexuality of the priests and I vowed to escape. The school was in England and my parents were in Africa and I had no money so my attempt to tunnel out of Stalag 14 at the age of eleven was futile. But I learned the code and I saw how the escape from our karma might be achieved later.

I also learned a concept at an unusually early age that would eventually change my life. Young men yearn for girls and cars, iPods and cool clothes and they pray to be miraculously raised up in some way, fame overnight, please.

Instead, I prayed for wisdom. ‘God, please make me truly wise’ became my mantra, for I saw the ignorance and I knew I was part of it, as I knew nothing. I somehow realized that knowledge would set me/us free. Real knowledge, pure knowledge as I later came to call it.

I knew money was important so I did that for a bit after school , then I learned to meditate and dreams and visions followed and once I could see even a little, everything changed. My whole life became an escape route. Meanwhile, I built alliances with Fringe Dwellers who also sought to escape. We helped each other. I learned love there; we all learned that selfless co-operation is a priceless key.

I did marriage and babies and there was a bittersweet beauty in that, moments of inadequacy and euphoria wrapped in lots of pain, it was the karma of an expensive chocolate embedded in a cactus. And while all that was a wonderful learning – no regrets at all, it wasn’t my real destiny, escapology was the soul mate to which I was bound for life.

I gradually got it – escape that is. Looking back, I saw that at every step I was shown the way out. I learned you need money, not huge amounts just some, and you need wisdom and the community of tunnel diggers. You also need a bit of luck but I came to believe you make your own luck and while we don’t understand the exact mathematics of it all, I still feel it is generated from a program within you driven by pulses of the force of will.

The force of will is like golden mist swirling in a gentle wind, it is out ahead of you as a silent resolve and fortitude, it is the power of all your eventualities, but mostly it is the ability to be patient and to endure while you stalk the wild pendulum; chasing the pendulum is hopeless, if you wait it clunks you on the nose. ‘Plank on head’, I call it.

The desire to flee to a brave new world is a deep yearning, an ache in many-a-soul, but to let go of what you know and jump is scary. It is okay if you balk at the edge; everyone balks at the Jump Program, as it said in the Matrix. But, when staying becomes more frightening than jumping, your soul takes on kangaroo-like qualities.

I already knew how to jump but I would do so gingerly holding my nose, Ayahuasca taught me how to plunge into the void fearlessly. If you want it badly enough you’ll learn to jump, especially if you are bored with life and all the old re-hashed stuff, and copious blah, blah. There is a heroism in jumping for freedom.

The Morph came in 2001 and the walls melted and people dematerialized and the door appeared, I went through and came back and then I went through again, a deer from an inner world helped me, bizarre eh?

The Morph is everywhere; it’s mine it’s yours, it is for everyone, many see it naturally and while you should still pray for wisdom to descend upon you, it’s under your nose really. I taught some people to see the Morph (a small group, maybe three hundred) and I agreed to personally take a hundred and fifty across the Morph to the door for I felt once they knew, they could teach others. I’m in the taxi on the crossing process with those people right now.

Resolve to flee if that is your wish, pray for freedom, act coherently, sell stuff, clean up, heal yourself, and love and respect Gaia for she is our mother and her dark side Kali is very scary. Process your shadow, learn to vision and to dream the lucid dream, and follow those instructions that you see, as that is pure information just for you – a blessing from the Golden Hind also known as the White Hart, the stag on the windy mountaintop that bellows at dusk calling each soul to stop wandering about in loneliness and indecision and come back home.

The Magic Key of All True Wealth http://howtocreateyourfuture.com/the-magic-key-of-all-true-wealth-2/ Thu, 23 Aug 2012 17:23:18 +0000 http://howtocreateyourfuture.com/?p=1496 Continue reading ]]>

Excerpt from  How To Program Your Mind For Wealth

Gratitude is the magic key of all true wealth. You are not wealthy if you have ten million dollars in the bank but spend all of your energy worrying about how to protect it from others, or how to protect yourself from losing it. You are abundantly wealthy when you realize that your daily needs are met, and you take great pleasure in the simple experience of being alive.

As I have stated before, in order to attract your goals to you more quickly you must feel as strongly as you are able that your goals are already a reality for you. Act the way you would act if all of your desires were already met. Feel the way you would feel if you had successfully accomplished all of your goals. These emotions set in motion the events necessary for your development. Gratitude is the key emotion for setting in motion the experience of prosperity in your life.

Today, you must allow yourself to feel true gratitude for everything that is positive in your life. Give thanks for your friends and the people you love. Give thanks for the food you eat. Give thanks for your health, your sanity, and your ability to grow and learn. Be grateful for all of the simple little things that you completely take for granted but would sorely miss if they were taken from you.

As well, feel grateful for all of the wealth that you already possess, and feel grateful that you are learning psychological principles that will greatly enhance your ability to attract wealth into your life from now on. If you honestly cannot generate a positive feeling of gratitude, ask yourself this question: What could I feel grateful for if I wanted to? Ask this question and your brain will come up with an answer.

From now on, whenever you spend your money, do it gratefully. Be grateful that you have money to spend, even if you feel poor. Be grateful that you have food to eat. Be grateful that you have a warm bed to sleep in tonight. Gratitude is the single most important step to developing prosperity consciousness. Practice feeling gratitude whenever you get the chance.

The $100 StartupBy Chris Guillibeau / Author of The $100 Startup

Over the past several years, I’ve been on a quest to study micro-businesses — small operations (typically one person) that make $50,000 a year or more (often a lot more). The quest took me all over the world, at first to a large group of 1,500 “unexpected entrepreneurs” who volunteered to share their stories in detail.

I wanted to hear from all kinds of businesses — both offline and online — to decipher what made them so successful. How did they get started? What helped them grow into significant, reliable sources of income? How can you increase odds of success?

After much effort, a small team and I narrowed down the case studies to a subset of 70 that I focused on for final analysis. All 70 people had created freedom for themselves: new income and a completely new way of life. There are formulas.

Here is a list of 17 lessons learned…

By Dr. Robert Anthony, Creator of The Secret of Deliberate Creation

Think of your present moment as your Point of Power, because it is the only point where you can exercise your full power. For most of us the present moment exists only as mental concept. If there is such a place where all the creative forces of the universe come together, how do we know it is the present moment? What evidence is there that this is true?

Consider this; all your hopes for the future and even your memories of the past can happen only in the present moment. The present moment is that one point where everything comes together.

We have been taught that those moments are separate from each other, but in truth, they all take place in the now. No matter what happens in life, it is always now, then now, then now – always in the present moment.

Nothing exist outside of the NOW. Nothing ever happened in the past. – It happened in the Now. Nothing will ever happen in the future – It will happen in the Now. When you think of the past it is stored in the mind as a former now. And, when you think about the past, when do you do it? – You do it now! When the futures comes – it comes in the now. And, when you think about the future, when do you do it? – You do it now!

The past and the future have no realities of their own. Their realities are “borrowed” from the now.

All unhappiness is caused by denial of the present. We think problems are caused by our situations in life, but attachment to the past and future and denial of the now is the real problem. Ultimately then, there is only one problem in life – not living in the now.

You cannot be unhappy and fully present now. It is impossible to have a problem when your attention is in the now. When you live in the now, a situation is either dealt with or accepted now. A problem means you are dwelling on a situation mentally without having a true intention or possibility of taking action now.

In order to attract substantial amounts of wealth into your life you obviously must be open to receiving this wealth. You also must be open to the idea that any situation you encounter may offer you a money-making opportunity, and that any person you meet may open a creative opportunity for you, or spark an idea in your mind that can be turned into a lucrative enterprise.

You must be constantly alert for ways in which you can use your energy to attract more wealth into your life. This means being always willing to learn, and always expecting to find fulfilling ways to earn money.

Develop your feelings of expectation to such a degree that in every situation you encounter and in every conversation you have you will expect to learn something new, develop a new idea, or in some way enrich your life.

Living your life in this manner will open you up not only to a more abundant lifestyle, but also a more enjoyable one. When you go through each day’s experiences constantly open to the possibilities that surround you, your mind automatically becomes calmer, more focused, and better able to bring to you the experiences you desire.

A simple way to be open to the goodness within all experience is to assume that you are always in the right place at the right time, and that when a creative idea comes you will be psychologically prepared to accept it and physically prepared to act upon it. In this way you can make any of your daily experiences more rewarding.

An extremely useful habit to begin is to develop this sense of openness and expectation first thing in the morning when you awaken. Simply ask yourself “what will happen today that is truly great”, or some similar question that fills you with an optimistic attitude towards the events you will encounter each day.

Assuming that something exciting will happen will automatically kick-start your day in a positive direction, and guarantee more fulfilling experiences in your life.

By Tim Ferris, Author of The 4-Hour Work Week

Let us start with a quote, often misattributed to Goethe:

“Concerning all acts of initiative (and creation), there is one elementary truth, the ignorance of which kills countless ideas and splendid plans: that the moment one definitely commits oneself, then Providence moves too. All sorts of things occur to help one that would never otherwise have occurred. A whole stream of events issues from the decision, raising in one’s favor all manner of unforeseen incidents and meetings and material assistance, which no man could have dreamed would have come his way. Whatever you can do, or dream you can do, begin it. Boldness has genius, power, and magic in it. Begin it now. -William Hutchinson Murray, The Scottish Himalayan Expedition (1951)

If you want a lesson in boldness, and to cross things off of your bucket list, there is no better teacher than Ben Nemtin. His story, and that of the entire Buried Life team, is amazing.

It started with a list of 100 things and a planned two-week roadtrip. Along the way, Ben has somehow managed to play basketball with Obama, throw the first pitch at a Major League Baseball game, deliver a baby (not his), make the biggest roulette spin in Vegas’ history, and much more.

Most recently, they crossed off #19: Write a bestselling book. Their debut, What Do You Want To Do Before You Die?, just hit #1 on The New York Times, which will be announced officially April 15th. To celebrate? They’re sending a copy of the book into space.

It all seems unbelievable, which is exactly why I love this guest post from Ben.

This original content covers his 6 steps for crossing anything off of your personal bucket list. There is a method. Everyone needs a kick in the ass sometimes, and this did it for me.

By James Altucher

QUESTION: How can I be happy, when the future holds little promise, and you fear you haven’t lived the kind of life you can be content with?

ANSWER: In June, 2003, I Googled what would happen if I put three unlit cigarettes in a cup of water overnight. Then drank the water in the morning. The idea is that nicotine is a lethal poison. When you smoke it you burn most of the poison away. But if it drains into the water… The theory was I’d be dead of a heart attack in sixty seconds. My fear was that I would I have brain damage instead.

I’ve known people with brain damage. That would be no good.

It was three in the morning. I knew I was going to go broke. My office had papers and dead computers and dead books and the cards of dead friends everywhere. The IRS letter was next to my computer. I had an incomparable loneliness in all of my relationships. All the work and hours I had put in had added up to this dirty office and no money.

Or maybe there was the other time. My whole life added up to being escorted by police to a hotel room to spend the night. “To calm down.” Or the time I was thrown out of graduate school. Or the time I was asked by my boss, “don’t you think it’s important to show pride in your work?” Or the times I was cheated on.

If I really want to be honest I could say I threw a burning iron at someone and that’s when the police came. But perhaps that would seem too much. If I wanted to truly be correct, I could look back at the past and say I did everything they told me to do, all the secret agents that wanted to destroy me: friends, parents, colleagues, bosses, lovers, and here I am – look where I ended up? And where did they all go? Back to their safe houses, in the James Protection Program so I never see them again.

I could sit here all night until daybreak talking about the past, which is gone forever. And the future, which will never exist and yet seems so real. Maybe the economy will end us. Or global warming. Or Greece. or war. Or we lose our jobs. You and me. We can be scared all night together. And who will survive when the world turns Mad Max and rogue skinheads will kill us for our gasoline?

The future just a bleak desert, mirages of water only lasting a few seconds before I realize my thirst won’t be quenched. May never be quenched again.

One thing you forgot to mention in your question, my friend, is the present. Right now. The only thing we know exists. The most important thing of all and we left it out. I was googling cigarettes in water when I could’ve been looking in on my sleeping one year old. I could’ve kissed her forehead. I could’ve been grateful to be given such a magical moment. Then I could’ve called my father one month before his fatal stroke and told him I loved him. Instead I never spoke to him again.

I gave up that magical moment forever because of worries about the future and because of something I did in the past.

The magical moments only exist right now. They will never exist again.

The way we miss them is when we focus on the past. Or we try to drink from the mirage in the distant future. Flying unicorns could be all around us but our eyes are glazed over with cataracts of the dismal future and bleaker past.

I would say, “if only this company sells, I’ll be happy.” And then I was never more miserable. And then later I would say, “I blew it so bad I ruined everyone’s life and not just my own.” And then I was never more miserable.

If only I had left out both those statements out I never would’ve been more happy.

Abundance doesn’t exist only “after X, Y, Z happens”. Happiness doesn’t exist because “I already did A, B, and C”.

Magic and Abundance only can exist right now exactly because the past and the future simply don’t.

This doesn’t mean live only for the moment. We all have responsibilities. But DO them. And then be grateful. Find the five things you are grateful for. There’s always five or more. List them. That’s abundance. And it compounds into more abundance if you always bring yourself back to it when your mind wanders like a time machine. Everytime your mind wanders, bring it back, list what you are grateful for.

I’ll tell you a story. I asked Kathryn Schulz what the inspiration of her book, “Being Wrong” was. She said she was talking to a friend of hers and the friend was describing in great detail the funeral of her father. The snow coming down in large flakes that covered the ground, the tears, the intense sadness that brought the memory to life. “But,” Kathryn asked her, “I thought your dad died in July?” So there couldn’t have been snow.

The past lies. The future won’t come true. The abundance and magic are only here and now.

The Magic Trick

If you always bring yourself back to that present moment, the future will more than take care of itself.

The abundance will grow every time you bring yourself back to the present moment and count the things you are grateful for.

That’s it. That’s the only trick to get great abundance in your life.

We start off with that helpless destined feeling. That we will die with our handcuffs on. And the hopes we had would be put a stop to. We would be found guilty in our worst nightmares. We would be silenced by our fears.

But right now I’m happy I’m talking to you. I’m abundant because you are listening. I’m grateful because I can feel my breath. Maybe one day I’ll decay and die. Maybe one day all around me will be the mirage and the desperate heat. Maybe one day my past will seem too much for me. But right here and now you and I are both alive. We’re both breathing. Knock knock.

Here’s a story:

A wise master and his student. The student lives far away and writes monthly updates on his progress towards enlightenment.

The first letter: “I see visions of heaven. I’m lifted by angels, I feel light like I can fly. I can see the whole world.”

The master grumbles and rips up the letter.

The next letter a month later. “I’ve seen all the universes. I’ve created worlds. I’ve seen the inside of myself.”

The master grumbles and rips the letter into even tinier shreds.

The next letter from the student: “I’ve sat in meditation for one month straight without eating. My mind is an empty sea. I can see everyone’s aura. I see the whole past and the whole future in this single instant.”

The master says to nobody in particular, “this is shit.” And puts the letter in his paper shredder. The master gets lots of letters from students.

Six months go by and no letter from the student. Finally the master, curious about an update, writes the student and asks what’s going on.

The student writes back a letter: “Who cares!?”

Finally, the master smiles.

That’s enlightenment.

How Affirmations Helped Create My Worldwide Empire http://howtocreateyourfuture.com/how-affirmations-helped-create-my-worldwide-empire/ Thu, 17 May 2012 16:12:57 +0000 http://howtocreateyourfuture.com/?p=1362 Continue reading ]]>

By Scott Adams, Creator of Dilbert

Several years ago, in the closing pages of my otherwise humorous book titled The Dilbert Future, I told a weird little tale of how I used a technique called affirmations in my attempts to achieve a number of unlikely goals.

Since then, I’ve received more questions on that topic than on anything else I’ve ever written. So I know this will pin the needle on the blog comments.

The idea behind affirmations is that you simply write down your goals 15 times a day and somehow, as if by magic, coincidences start to build until you achieve your objective against all odds.

An affirmation is a simple sentence such as “I Scott Adams will become a syndicated cartoonist.” (That’s one I actually used.)

Prior to my Dilbert success, I used affirmations on a string of hugely unlikely goals that all materialized in ways that seemed miraculous. Some of the successes you can explain away by assuming I’m hugely talented and incredibly sexy, and therefore it is no surprise that I accomplished my goals despite seemingly long odds. I won’t debate that interpretation because I like the way it sounds.

But some of my goals involved neither hard work nor skill of any kind. I succeeded with those too, against all odds. Those are harder to explain, at least for me, since the most common explanation is that they are a delusion. I found my experience with affirmations fascinating and puzzling, and so I wrote about it.

At this point, allow me to correct a mistake I made the first time that I described my experience with affirmations. If you only hear the objective facts, it sounds as if I believe in some sort of voodoo or magic. That’s not the case.

While I do think there is something wonderful and inexplicable about affirmations, I have no reason to conclude it is any more than a pleasant hallucination. But if it is a hallucination, it’s a totally cool one. When I have flying dreams, I know they aren’t real, but it doesn’t stop me from enjoying the hell out of them. And so it might be the same with affirmations. Affirmations might be nothing more than a wonderful illusion that you can control your own luck.

Skeptics have suggested — and reasonably so — that this is a classic case of selective memory. Perhaps I tried affirmations a bunch of times and only remember the times it seemed to work. That’s exactly what I would assume if someone told me the stories I’ve told others. But working against this theory is the fact that affirmations leave a substantial paper trail. It would be hard to forget writing something 15 times a day for six months. And if it turns out that this is what happened to me, it’s fascinating still, because it says a lot about how the mind works.

My best guess about what really happens when you use affirmations is that several normal phenomena come together to create what seems abnormal. I’ll describe a few theories of what might be behind affirmations. Maybe there are more.

There’s a book called The Luck Factor, in which researcher Richard Wiseman describes studying people who considered themselves lucky, to see if they had any special powers along the lines of ESP. It turns out that they don’t.

But he did discover that people who expect luck have a more powerful ability to notice opportunities in their environment. Optimistic people’s field of perception is literally greater. And the best part is he discovered that when you train people to expect luck, their field of perception increases accordingly.

I think part of the mystery of affirmations has to do with the fact that it improves your ability to notice an opportunity. And when you do, it seems like a lucky coincidence. In my case, about half of my seemingly miraculous results with affirmations could be traced back to my noticing something important.

I’m not sure if optimism is what inspires a person to go through the effort of writing affirmations, or if the affirmations cause the optimism. But in either case you would expect that people who are writing affirmations would more readily notice opportunities than the average non-optimist.

I also wonder if affirmations are one way in which the subconscious (if such a thing exists) communicates with the rational part of your brain. Writing affirmations takes effort. Perhaps your subconscious only allows you to spend that much time on goals that it feels you have a chance of obtaining even if your rational mind does not. For example, my rational mind didn’t believe I could become a syndicated cartoonist with no experience and virtually no artistic ability. But maybe some other part of my brain knew it was a realistic goal.

Viewed in this light, if you can write a goal 15 times a day for months, there’s a good chance that some part of your brain views the goal as achievable even if your rational mind doesn’t see how.

Writing affirmations also helps you focus on your goal, moving them from wishful thinking to something in which you are willing to invest yourself. If you have ever managed people, you know that your staff’s level of commitment makes a huge difference to their success. Perhaps affirmations are a way to manage your own level of commitment. In effect, you are brainwashing yourself, and this might help you get through the tough patches that come with pursuing ambitious goals. When I started Dilbert, I didn’t take a day off for ten years. You only work that hard if you fully expect something good to come from it. I did.

My favorite explanation for the power of affirmations also has the least evidence to support it, i.e. none. The idea behind this explanation is that human brains don’t have the capacity to understand all the complexities of reality, and so our brains present us with highly simplified illusions that we treat as facts.

In this model, affirmations are a lever on some entirely natural chain of cause and affect, but not a chain that our brains are capable of comprehending. While this view is unlikely to be correct, it has the advantage of being totally cool to think about.

Since the publication of The Dilbert Future, I’ve received thousands of e-mails from people recounting their own experiences with affirmations. Most people seem to be amazed at how well they worked. I heard all kinds of stories of people changing careers, marrying the person of their dreams, making money, and starting businesses. I also heard stories from people who claimed affirmations didn’t work for them, but the failure stories were the minority. To be fair, the people who had success were more likely to get excited and write to me about it, so the most that I can conclude is that lots of people BELIEVE affirmations worked for them.

Your Questions about Affirmations

Since I know you are going to ask me a bundle of questions about affirmations, let me answer the ones I can anticipate:

1. If affirmations work, it’s probably because you are focusing on a goal. Therefore I doubt it matters exactly how you word the affirmation, or if it’s handwritten or typed, or if you keep them or throw them away, or if you stop for a few days and then continue. I won’t answer any other questions about technique because I’d be guessing.

2. I’ve never heard of a “monkey paw” affect where you achieve your goal but something horrible happens to you to balance it out.

3. I’m not doing any affirmations at the moment, mostly because I already have everything I want except a Nobel Prize. And even that wouldn’t change my life much. But I do visualize all of my goals and I always expect good luck, so I probably get the benefits of affirmations — even if those are only psychological — without the effort.

4. I don’t know how long you should try affirmations before concluding that they don’t work for you. But trying it for less than six months probably doesn’t give it a chance.

5. Affirmations have not worked every time for me. But the few times they did not work, I must say I wasn’t fully invested in the objective. For example, there are a few cases where if I had achieved an objective it would have caused a lifestyle change that wasn’t entirely positive.

The Dilbert FutureI know from my experience describing this topic that fully half of you reading it just concluded that “the Dilbert guy believes in magic.” The truth is that I believe in cool things that haven’t yet been explained to my satisfaction.

So here’s a good test of your personality. If all of your friends told you that they win money on the slot machines whenever they stick their fingers in their own ears, would you try it? Or would you assume that since there is no obvious reason it could work, it’s not worth the effort?

How to Switch Dimensions http://howtocreateyourfuture.com/how-to-switch-dimensions/ http://howtocreateyourfuture.com/how-to-switch-dimensions/#comments Thu, 19 Apr 2012 17:12:11 +0000 http://howtocreateyourfuture.com/?p=1323 Continue reading ]]>

By Steve Pavlina

When I want to make a significant change in my life, I often think of it in terms of switching dimensions. My attention is focused on my current reality right now, and my desired situation can be said to exist as some alternate reality outside of my primary focus. In that other reality, there’s another me who’s already where I want to be. My goal then is to become that other me and to shift into his reality.

In practice this is fairly straightforward. It may sound odd to you at first, but try not to get caught up on the words I use to describe the process. You may choose to frame it differently than I do, and that’s fine.

First I’ll explain how the process works in general, and then I’ll walk you through a specific example to illustrate it. Here are the steps:

1. Ponder Other Possibilities.

First, imagine that all possible alternate realities can and do exist. The multiverse is an infinite honeycomb of possible universes. You may be aware of only one universe right now, but suppose that the others exist in some alternate dimensions, and you just aren’t aware of them.

In some alternate reality, the Cuban Missile Crisis kicked off World War III. Or the USA is debt-free. Or there’s an alternate YOU living in a different city. On a personal level, for every choice or event you experienced, some YOU in another reality made a different choice and/or experienced a different outcome, so there’s a whole network of new realities that splintered off from that one, a network that includes all possible branches of possibilities.

So in some other dimension, there are other versions of you who are living completely different lives.
Now ponder that in some of those dimensions, there are versions of you who are much happier, more successful, more socially supported, wealthier, etc.

Feel a sense of oneness with those other YOUs. Know that in fact they are all YOU. You exist in multitudes, but you normally focus your attention upon just one of all possible realities.
Sometimes you may get confused, however, and not be quite sure which reality you’re in. Is this the reality where you experience abundance or scarcity or something in between? At times you may wonder which it is. Other times you may be quite certain about which reality you’re focused upon right now, like This is a reality where I’m in love.

2. Explore the Relationship Between Your Reality and Your Vibe.

Second, begin to notice that there’s a relationship between your reality and your vibe.
Your vibe is your personal energy signature. It includes your feelings, thoughts, beliefs, and attitudes.
You may recognize the vibe of another person based on the overall feeling you have about that person. If you find someone creepy, you could say that the person emits a creepy vibe. You may find that others emit vibes that are peaceful, loving, joyful, depressed, angry, frustrated, stressed, guilty, worried, etc.

Our vibes fluctuate a lot. On any given day, your vibe may shift all over the place. Or it may remain relatively constant. But in the background, you will tend to have a fairly stable default vibe that you keep returning to. It’s how you generally operate about 80% of the time.

If someone has a depressed vibe, you may still be able to make them laugh and feel happy from time to time, but their normal default behavior will be to return to that depressed vibe again and again.
The dimension you experience is largely determined by your default vibe, not by your momentary fluctuations.

Imagine you’re listening to a song. The flow of the music will of course change over time. There will be different instruments and notes coming and going. The song’s vibrations aren’t the same from one measure to the next. But a song also has structure; otherwise it would just be noise. And so the song itself can be said to have an overall vibe, such as peaceful, uplifting, enthusiastic, depressing, powerful, etc.

The overall vibe of a song is like the overall vibe of your life. You may have lots of variation in the vibes within your life, but you’re still subjected to the structure of the overall background vibe.
So, for instance, if your default vibe is depressing, you can still access some happy vibes and therefore enjoy happy experiences now and then, but those can only exist as exceptions.

3. Identify Your Default Vibe.

Next, see if you can identify your current default vibe. Since you normally spend a lot of time there, you may not even notice it most of the time. It’s easier to notice it by contrast. When your default vibe is fearful, and you feel really confident for a few hours, then you may realize just how fearful your default vibe actually is.

Remember that your vibe is more than your emotions, so feel free to use both emotional and non-emotional words to describe it. You may understand this part better when I share the walkthrough later on.

Again, it’s easier to understand your current default vibe during those times when you’re having peak experiences that shift your vibe in exceptional ways. When you’re in a high or a low period relative to your default, you can view your default vibe from the outside looking in.

Another way to understand your default vibe is to spend some time with people who have very different default vibes. They will draw your vibe towards them, effectively stretching you away from your default experience, and during those times you can gain some perspective as well.

If you try to understand your default vibe from the inside, you’ll probably just label it with words like “normal” or “average.” But your version of normal may be another person’s version of timidity. You have to stretch yourself away from the center to understand what that center really looks like. Contrast is essential here.

4. Identify Your Desired Vibe.

Once you have some clarity about your default vibe, notice which of the exceptional vibes you feel most drawn to. What if you could turn a combination of those exceptional vibes into your default vibe, such that what was once exceptional and unusual becomes your normal day to day experience?

Suppose you notice that your default vibe has a lot of scarcity in it. When you do the contrast exercises in the previous step, you can see that you’ve been pessimistic, envious, and needy. But every once in a while, you have peak experiences of abundance, appreciation, and gratitude. If you could experience these peak vibes as your normal, default vibe, your life would change radically for the better. You would effectively switch dimensions into one where another YOU is experiencing delightful levels of abundance right now.

Vibes have many different frequencies, but for the sake of this change, you have a couple basic options. You could focus on just one aspect of your desired vibrational shift, such as switching from scarcity to abundance, or you can try to combine lots of different shifts into one. I find the former approach more effective since it’s simpler. Once I’ve locked in one change, then I focus on the next one. However, I do sometimes have to work on multiple shifts simultaneously because of their potential interactions. A vibe of low self-esteem can sabotage efforts to create a vibe of abundance, for instance.

5. Create a Trigger for Your Desired Vibe.

It’s not necessary to perfectly label a vibe with words. Vibes are much more expressive than words anyway. But it is important to come up with a way to reload your signature vibe whenever you want.
One way to trigger your desired vibe is to create a scene in your mind that evokes the vibe. After some practice this only takes seconds to load the vibe.

You may need to play around with the scene in your mind to reach the point where it feels just right. Keep tweaking your imagery till you feel it’s helping you experience the desired vibe.

In your imagery be specific. Imagine you’re playing the scene in a movie theater. So it’s not blurry or fuzzy or riddled with options. You just click a mental “play” button and watch it go.

Note that you are not necessarily trying to manifest exactly what’s in the scene. You’re simply creating a trigger to reload your vibe.

Other ways to trigger your vibe would be to find a song that evokes the vibe. Or create a shrine in your home that evokes the vibe when you look at the shrine; a shrine is simply a collection of objects.

6. Load the New Vibe Daily.

Now here’s the biggest and most important step. Commit to spending time each day triggering and experiencing your new vibe. Do this for at least 20 minutes a day, and keep it up for 3-4 weeks minimum. You don’t have to do the 20 minutes continuously though. Just aim to spend at least 20 minutes out of each day consciously practicing your new vibe.

If you do less than this, you’re probably wasting your time. The new vibe will not stick.
The idea here is that you have to condition the new vibe as a permanent, long-term habit. It typically takes about 3-4 weeks to do that.

If you hold the vibe of abundance every day for a week, for instance, and then you slip and get sidetracked, nothing much will change. Your default vibe of scarcity will not be dislodged. You’ll continue to experience essentially the same reality.

Once you’ve consciously done this for 3-4 weeks, the practice of loading up the new vibe will become a habit. This means that you’ll continue this practice automatically without having to think about it. At this point it’s only a matter of time before your new vibe begins to infect your default vibe, gradually shifting its frequencies over time. With each passing week, your default vibe will become increasingly abundant.

I usually do this by setting aside some time each day to meditate. During these meditations I load up my trigger, experience the desired vibe, and revel in it for 20 minutes or so. This practice not only turns the daily experience of the new vibe into a habit, but it also helps me get comfortable with it. After a few weeks, the new vibe no longer feels so exceptional to me; it begins to feel normal. Pretty soon I’ll be experiencing this vibe throughout each day, not just during my meditations.

Additionally, I also nudge myself to reload the new vibe whenever I can remember to do so. I do it when I wake up first thing in the morning and when I’m lying in bed before falling asleep. I do it when I’m showering, exercising, or making meals. Sometimes I remind myself to do it when I’m in the middle of a conversation with someone. Basically I conspire to trigger my new vibe many times per day.

7. Act on Your New Vibe.

Your vibe controls which thoughts you have access to. As you begin to shift your default vibe, your thinking will change as well. You’ll begin to get new ideas that are inspired by the new vibe. Notice especially the ideas that are out of sync with your old vibe but which are clearly spawning from your new vibe.

Take action on these ideas as much as you can. Give yourself permission to be very spontaneous during this time. Don’t hesitate. Just act.

You won’t do this perfectly, so don’t beat yourself up if you miss an opportunity. Just keep leaning into your new vibe with action. Take action again and again.

Similarly, hold back on taking action when you identify ideas as stemming from your old vibe. Let those ideas fade.

So here you’re simply getting your actions aligned with your new vibe.

8. Shed the Incongruent.

This step is absolutely critical, and it’s a huge stumbling point for many people. I see lots of people crash and burn here. I can’t caution you enough that you’d better prepare yourself for it. This step often takes a lot of heart and courage to complete.

As you shift your vibe, your reality is going to shift too. But you must cooperate with these shifts. If you fail to cooperate, you will effectively block the shift from taking place, and you’ll remain stuck in your old reality.

As you shift your vibe internally, you’re going to see some flare-ups of polarized energy in your external reality. Some of it will be very positive. New forms of support will rush towards you to encourage you. But much of it will take the form of resistance.

A common form of resistance is people telling you that they don’t like what you’re doing, especially people who are close to you now. If your vibe has been fairly stable for a while, then realize that your personal relationships right now are a result of your current default vibe. As you shift your vibe, your relationships must change as well. Some people may shift their vibes to join you, but many won’t.

It’s a mistake to try to negotiate and compromise with the people who are putting up resistance. Simply disconnect from them and let them go. This will create space for new people to come into your life, people who are vibrational matches for your new vibe, not your old one.

If you want to create abundance then, expect to lose many of your scarcity-minded friends. If you can’t stomach that, realize that this is actually a result of the scarcity vibe itself. From the vibe of abundance, this is needy, clingy behavior, but from within the vibe of scarcity, it will more likely be labeled as loyalty.

The tricky part about shifting vibes is that some vibes include sticky elements that make them very stable. Scarcity is such a vibe. Depression is another. When you’re depressed, for instance, you’re going to repel happy people from your life, and so the only people who will deal with you are probably depressed, angry, or otherwise down on themselves. You won’t see much evidence of what a happy reality could be like until you shift your vibe. So some vibrational shifts are a bit of a catch 22 indeed. If you’re waiting for evidence that shifting your vibe will improve your reality, and you’re unwilling to try shifting until you see such evidence, you’ll be waiting a very long time. Your vibe will repel such evidence from even entering your reality.

This is why I like to have my default vibe infected with a sense of exploration and the desire to embrace new experiences. This helps expose me to new potential vibes to explore, and it helps prevent me from getting stuck. In fact, I’ve probably enjoyed the biggest and most positive shifts by embracing friends with vibes that were very different from my default vibe at the time I met them.
In order to complete my own shifts, I sometimes have to shed old friends who aren’t compatible with the other side. It’s difficult, but it’s worth it. People are like magnets, and keeping people in my life who will keep pulling me back to my old vibe isn’t helpful. Whenever I let go of those relationships, I feel relieved, and it’s so much easier to complete the shift afterwards.

Just to clarify this a bit more, I’m not really letting go of the people. I’m letting go of the vibes they’re currently holding. If they were to shift their vibes later to something more compatible with mine, they could easily re-enter my reality. For instance, I recently had to tell a friend that as long as she insists on holding herself in a vibe of depression and abuse (and remaining loyal to people who treat her like dirt), I’m not going to continue to connect with her because that’s incompatible with what I want to experience. But I let her know that I’m happy to reconnect when she shifts her vibe to something more compatible with me (positive, growth-oriented, etc).

On the other hand, it’s also quite beautiful when I connect with other growth-oriented people who are on a similar path, so we can work on our shifts together and help support and encourage each other along the way.

9. Embrace the Dimensional Shifts.

As you see your reality begin to shift, welcome it. Notice signs that you’re making progress, and celebrate them. Creatively observe that your reality is indeed changing.

These shifts happen over time, usually weeks or months in my experience. I like to think of this process as traveling through the intermediate dimensions between my old reality and my intended new reality. During much of this time, I’m no longer in my old reality, but I’m not quite in the new one yet either. I’m crossing through other dimensions that represent combinations of my old vibe and my new one.

This is where you will see a lot of partial matches. A business deal shows up, but it isn’t quite right. A new potential relationship partner shows up, but s/he isn’t interested or is already involved with someone else.

My advice here is not to force anything to happen. If you get too involved in these partial matches, you’re very likely to get stuck partway through your shift. So don’t get clingy with these intermediate universes and the “opportunities” they present to you.

Keep your focus on your new vibe, and do your best not to succumb to the lure of partial matches. I know they’re tempting, but don’t take the bait. This is especially tricky when shifting out of a scarcity vibe, where clinginess is part of the vibe. Just do your best to keep moving forward.

What happens to these partial matches as you continue to shift? In my experience they typically go one of two ways.

The first possibility is that they simply fade from your life, and something better shows up later.
The second possibility is that the nature of the connection shifts. So the same business deal or relationship exists in your desired reality, but the circumstances are different. In these situations, as you continue to shift, you’ll see changes occurring. New funding will come through that wasn’t there before. Someone who was unavailable becomes available.

When dealing with partial matches, it’s very important to allow them to be as they are without undue attachment to outcomes. If you try to force or push the partial match to become a full match, you’re going to stick yourself to one of those intermediate dimensions, and you will block yourself from experiencing a full match. I have fallen into this trap so many times it’s not even funny, but these days I’m really committed to not forcing things when I observe a partial match. I have enough experience that I don’t need blind faith to keep me going, just the remembrance that partial matches are a clear sign of progress but not a reason to pause in mid-shift and proclaim victory.

When you don’t fall for the temptation of a partial match and hold out for a beautifully aligned match, you can keep moving forward vibrationally. Then when your new vibe is locked in and your old vibe seems like a distant memory, you’re going to be in your new desired dimension, and that’s where the really good matches will appear with grace and ease. When these matches hit you, it’s like a smack upside the head. Their alignment with your desires seems almost too good to be true. Just be careful not to push them away by seriously thinking that they are too good to be true. Welcome them with appreciation and gratitude, and know that you’re ready to experience and enjoy them.

10. Enjoy Your New Reality.

Vibes can be very sensitive, and it’s unlikely that you’ll achieve what you might label as perfection. It would be really tough to lock onto the exact dimension you wish to experience and go there specifically. These tools are not that precise. But you can get close enough to your desired universe that you can still proclaim victory.

At some point I usually reach a tipping point, and I can tell when I’ve tipped. I’ve escaped the gravity well of the old vibe, and I’ve clearly been pulled into the gravity well of the new vibe. I may not have shifted completely into my desired reality, but I have enough momentum that I can predict I’m going to get very close to it if I just maintain course.

A good way to lock in your new vibe is to appreciate your new reality. You’ve come a long way, and now you’re in a whole new universe. This new universe has a different energetic signature than your old one, and it’s a good match for your new vibe.

If you resist this shift and start loading up your old vibe, you can shift back. There’s no rule that says that just because you made a positive shift, you can’t undo it. You can certainly undo it and backslide. So to prevent this from happening, make a point of appreciating what you have now.

It can take some time to get used to your new reality. Try not to get too excited about it, as if it’s something exceptional that won’t last. Try to embrace your new reality as normal; expect it to persist for a while. Feeling good about it is great, but don’t get so excited that you doubt its continuation since that may ultimately backfire on you. If you believe it’s too good to be true, you’ll attract a universe that validates your belief. So even if you attract something really amazing to you, know that you deserve it.

When you’re ready for another shift, you may wish to hold the more desirable parts of your current vibe/reality stable, and work on creating the vibrational shifts that will allow you to slide sideways into a nearby dimension that has your desired improvements. For instance, once you’ve shifted into a reality where you enjoy financial abundance, you may wish to shift from there into a reality that includes social abundance as well.

Abundance The BookSince the dawn of humanity, a privileged few have lived in stark contrast to the hardscrabble majority. Conventional wisdom says this gap cannot be closed. But it is closing—fast.

In Abundance: The Future is Better Than You Think, space entrepreneur turned innovation pioneer Peter H. Diamandis and award-winning science writer Steven Kotler document how progress in artificial intelligence, robotics, infinite computing, ubiquitous broadband networks, digital manufacturing, nanomaterials, synthetic biology, and many other exponentially growing technologies will enable us to make greater gains in the next two decades than we have in the previous two hundred years.

We will soon have the ability to meet and exceed the basic needs of every man, woman, and child on the planet. Abundance for all is within our grasp.

Breaking down human needs by category—water, food, energy, healthcare, education, freedom—Diamandis and Kotler introduce us to dozens (and dozens) of innovators and industry captains making tremendous strides in each area: Dean Kamen’s “Slingshot,” a technology which can transform polluted water, salt water or even raw sewage into incredibly high-quality drinking water for less than one cent a liter; the Qualcomm Tricorder X PRIZE which promises a low-cost, handheld medical device that allows anyone to diagnose themselves better than a board certified doctor; Dickson Despommier’s “vertical farms,” which replaces traditional agriculture with a system that uses 80 percent less land, 90 percent less water, 100 percent fewer pesticides and zero transportation costs.

As a bonus, the authors provide a detailed reference section filled with ninety graphs, charts and graphics offering much of the source data underpinning their conclusions.

In this thrilling antidote to today’s dark pessimism, the authors rely on exhaustive research and extensive interviews with top scientists, innovators, and captains of industry to explore how four emerging forces—exponential technologies, the DIY innovator, the Technophilanthropist, and the Rising Billion—are conspiring to solve our biggest problems.

Diamandis and Kotler examine the stunning impact these forces are having on categories of critical importance while establishing hard targets for change, laying out a strategic road map for governments, industry, and entrepreneurs, and giving us plenty of reason for optimism.

Providing abundance is humanity’s grandest challenge—this is a book about how we rise to meet it.

There is one all-important truth that you must accept if you wish to develop on the path to prosperity. You must discard the modern scientific idea that the physical universe is a meaningless, uncaring, random machine, and that human consciousness is a chemical accident within this machine.

In fact precisely the opposite is true. The universe is a living, conscious, intelligent energy which manifests all physical realities. Thought, emotion, consciousness, and life are the true substance of our universe. Whereas we have been led to believe that consciousness is a delusion of our neurology, the real delusion is that a universe of such magnificence could be accidentally formed. There are countless scientific findings from the past century that point to this truth, but one vital understanding is all that we have room for in this short training program.

The most startling finding of modern science is that there is no material substance in the universe. Protons, electrons, quarks, and all of the “fundamental” particles that science has discovered all turn out to be various manifestations of energy and information.

Everything in the universe is a product of this ever-moving, ever-changing energy. All that we experience physically is simply an interpretation of that energy using our physical senses. So in the most practical, physical sense, everything that you experience is the result of your mind’s interpretation of the energy of the universe.

This insight is the first step to true freedom and personal power. If you believe the universe is a random, meaningless, violent place then in your experience it will be so. If, on the other hand, you believe that your mind controls the substance of your experience, and that the universe is primed to fulfill your needs, then you will meet with experiences that confirm this truth.

Your exercise today is to feel the energy of the universe. Feel it at work within your body; breathing for you, beating your heart, fighting diseases and repairing your cells. This energy flows out from your body to literally shape your world in the same way that it shapes your body.

“You have to settle into the uncertainty of things and be comfortable with it. Never voice negativity even if things are not going well. Your world is changing, there’s always tomorrow, all will work out fine in the end… Powerful consciousness about life and money is only habit. Agree to change your habits if that’s what it takes.” –Stuart Wilde

Author Unknown / Source: Delusion Damage

There is a time for everything, and there’s a time to move on. I have had a great year with all of you, and writing a blog has been an incredibly educational experience for me. I warmly recommend it to each and every one of you. The teaching and communication skills I’ve developed doing this will enhance the quality of my days for the entire remainder of my life. Who knows, maybe one day they’ll make me millions. Maybe not.

As the legacy of a youth spent immersed in a hustler’s ambition, I still have a weakness for money, so if someone offered me a book deal or linked a million people to my website, I probably couldn’t resist the temptation to keep writing, but barring that, I feel like I’m ready to leave this behind and turn my eyes toward a future of comfortable obscurity…

I don’t really care that much whether people listen to me. I used to think, once upon a time as a young lad, that I’d make a name for myself, do something grand and impressive, change the world and all that stuff. I don’t care about that anymore. Now, I’d rather not be famous. The more I’ve learned, the more I’ve come to lean toward the conclusion that the best thing in the world is for the world to leave you alone.

There is ultimately nothing to accomplish in life. You don’t need to be rich or well-liked or of prestigious social standing. You don’t need much of anything to be happy. You just need to focus on being happy, because you can only do one thing at a time in life.

If you try to do more than that, nothing gets done because your intentions conflict with each other, one hand pushes against the other. You must choose. Career or family, money or love, success or happiness… you cannot have it all. You can really only have one thing in life, and you’d better choose carefully.

You can choose money, spend all your days in gradually expanding offices and finally die of a heart attack in a board meeting while your gold-plated Ferrari sits quietly in the garage of your fifty-room mansion in the most exclusive neighborhood in the state.

You can choose family, be buried in a 2-for-1 bargain plot with your children weeping over your headstone and be as forgotten as a dead squirrel in the forest in a matter of generations.

You can choose anything you want in life and probably get it, but you can only completely achieve one thing. If you split your priorities, you will achieve split results as well. You can have a little bit of money, a little bit of prestige, a little bit of family and a little bit of everything else, but none of them will be complete for you. If you want 100% success with anything, that thing must comprise 100% of your priorities. Each goal you set for yourself takes away from all your other goals, because circumstances will always force you to further one at the expense of another and to choose between them every day.

My advice to you is to focus on happiness, on enjoying life. You probably don’t want to hear this, but this means you will not have money or status or anything else. Conversely, focusing on money, status or anything else means you will not achieve happiness. Happiness is not success. Happiness is the opposite of conventional success.

It’s not having things, it’s ceasing to want things. When you stop caring about everything that could be and focus completely on enjoying what is, you are happy.

You are unhappy when you think your life isn’t the way it should be, that you need to change X and Y and then your life can really begin. It doesn’t work like that, though. This is your life,  RIGHT NOW, THIS IS IT! Are you happy?

That’s the truth right there, but I don’t suspect that many even of the readers of this blog want the truth. I’ve noticed with the blog that the more truthfully I write, the less people like it, and the more I write what people want to hear, the more they like it. That’s why you can’t build a business on the truth. The truth is that the price of happiness is everything else, but in the commercial version the price of happiness is whatever you can comfortably afford. Three easy installments of $39.95, ten minutes a day of meditation exercises, a few months of approaching girls in the street. Something like that. Something that doesn’t require you to give up any of the things you really want.

Because people mostly do not want happiness. They want something else, something like money or success or status or respect, a beautiful wife or a wikipedia entry that says they were important. They want other people to think they are happy more than they really want to be happy. When you want to be happy even if it means that everyone you’ve ever loved and everyone you’re ever going to meet will think you’re a pathetic loser, that’s when you’re ready to be happy. Not before.

Being happy is the simplest thing in the world. Just do something that completely occupies your attention.

This is why people do extreme sports – the danger requires their complete attention so there is room for nothing else in their brain, and their internal monologue about everything that they think is wrong in their life quiets down. You don’t need to risk death, though. Watch a really good TV show or play a video game, something that really draws you in. Once you get better at giving your complete attention to the immediate present moment, you can do anything. Cook dinner, go for a walk in the park, sit still and do nothing. As long as you can stay out of your head and out of the range of that internal voice that nags about changes it wants made, you’ll stay happy. Happiness is your natural default state. Do you think lions lying in the sun berate themselves over what an ex-girlfriend said about them on Facebook?

That’s the secret to happiness right there. It doesn’t seem that impressive since I didn’t stretch it out to 180 pages with exciting Sanskrit words and made-up spiritual-sounding terms thrown in and charge 29 bucks for it. But it is the truth.

I’ve said what I wanted to say on this blog and I could probably have said it a lot quicker. What does the future hold for me? I might just go and do something completely normal and boring. I think I might be done with this teaching thing. I’ve gotten so used to writing that I wonder if I can quit. Maybe I’ll post something occasionally just for fun. I’ve still got something planned that I didn’t have time to do yet that isn’t exactly writing but it’s sort of related to the topics of this blog.
Aside from that, I guess we’ll see about the future when we get there.

No one can know the future, and don’t ever let anyone convince you they can. Those people on TV and on the internet trying to tell you what “will happen” in the next ten or twenty years are full of shit. All of them. Especially the experts.

Thinking that a stock market expert can go on TV and say something about the future of the stock market, or that a military expert can know about the future of the military, is like going back to 1999 and asking an Iraq expert what the next decade would look like for Iraq, or going back to 1935 and asking a Poland expert what the next ten years will look like for Poland. The problem with anybody who tries to predict anything is that they fail to understand that the specialty area that they think they know about is always being affected by a million external factors they know nothing about.

Any scientific endeavor to connect what you think is a cause to what you think is an effect is already at least 50% voodoo anyway, and trying to predict the future is like voodoo squared, it’s a whole different level of inaccuracy.

A few years ago they were all predicting global shifts of power decades into the future based on which countries had exploitable oil resources and which didn’t, and then somebody invented hydrofracking and now lots of previously unreachable oil is suddenly exploitable and all those pages of projections aren’t even good for toilet paper.

Don’t listen to anybody about the future who isn’t an expert on everything and all of the ways in which everything affects everything else.

That is, don’t listen to anybody.
